The setlist manager is responsible for the formation of the setlist. This includes the following:
- Preparing and chairing/leading Setlist meetings. Scheduling them is the responsibility of the ‣, but taking initiative is appreciated. Preparation entails ensuring all setlist suggestions are formatted such that they’re ready to be used without further effort during a Setlist meeting. Without proper preparation, these meetings would turn out even longer than they already usually are. In this light, ways to improve the setlist decision process are always welcome and should be looked for proactively.
- Representing the interest of any musician (like ensuring variation in everyone’s songs and equal stage time) and the audience (like genre balance and song popularity). This does not mean the setlist manager should ignore their own preferences, but only that that of others should be taken into account. In case of difficulty with taking the many factors into account, other committee members can be asked to help.
- Compiling the setlist rounds and preparing them to be communicated to musicians. The announcement and the entering of the setlist round into the website can be requested from the Secretary.
- Compiling all songs into a cohesive ordered setlist. This is done by proposing several setlists to the committee until the committee agrees on one. Factors like changeover time for musicians and song vibe changes need to be taken into account when ordering a setlist.
The actual songs in the setlist are suggested by the Musicians, and picked during Setlist meetings by the Committee.
