The production manager is the committee member that carries both the responsibility of a gear manager and that of a stage manager.

In future editions, the role of production manager may be split into gear manager and stage manager in case no one person in the committee is ready to take on the entire role.

Gear manager

A gear manager carries responsibility for all gear relevant to any of the Events. This includes the following:

• Gaining access to gear which is required but not owned by the organization (aka borrowing or in some cases renting). Think synthesizers, a drum kit, guitar stands, etc.
• Keeping track of all gear, especially that which is borrowed or owned by A-eskwadraat.
• Keeping gear in good condition and replacing it when necessary. When necessary, new gear can be purchased in consultation with the Treasurer .
• Storing gear. We’re renting a storage locker at The Music Space which should fit everything. Part of the responsibility is keeping this locker tidy. This may at some points include borrowed gear.
• Making plans for what gear is needed at any of the Events.
• Transportation of gear, both for events and for borrowed gear from and to its owner. This is often not possible on your own, so making transportation plans to carry out with others is advised. This can get complex for events like Rehearsal weekend, even though the responsibility is limited to gear, not people.
• Setting up and breaking down of gear. This can be taught to other committee members and other musicians so they can help or substitute the production manager in this. Even when others do know how to do this, the production manager is still responsible for making sure someone is actually available for setting up and breaking down.

Stage manager

The stage manager is responsible for anything related to the venue and the stage on the day of The show (the BMN). This includes the following:

• Arranging a venue for The show (the BMN) to take place at, and all the communication that comes with it. The financial aspect of this is delegated to the Treasurer .
• Preparing a Rider. Execution of the stage plan is also the production manager’s responsibility and overlaps with the gear manager component of the role.
• Preparing a light plan. This is done in cooperation with the Band coach es and their bands.
• Arranging photographers, including a photography plan so they can coordinate.
• Arranging audio recordings. This entails arranging the necessary hard- and software for making and storing the recordings, as well as contacting the venue about multi track recording possibilities.
• Arranging video recordings. This entails arranging (often borrowing and renting) the necessary hard- and software for making and storing the video recordings, as well as contacting the venue about camera placement both on- and off stage.
• Arranging staff not provided by/needed from the venue. Think ticket scanners, photographers, and possibly light and sound engineers.
