The composer is responsible for anything related to parts. Since musicians often figure out their parts fully themselves, this mostly plays out in the following ways:

• If a musician has trouble with figuring out their part, the composer is there to help them with sheet music, videos, or otherwise. There is no shame in needing help with figuring out parts, and in many cases, analyzing your part together (even if you already think you know it) leads to a better performance of the song.
• If a new part has to be written for a song, the composer, together with the musician the part is to be written for, is responsible for this. This includes when parts have to be rewritten because they turn out not to work in our setting.

A special responsibility of the composer is that of the Medley. In case the medley gets replaced by something else, the following still applies.

• The composer is responsible for collecting the committee’s ideas for how to structure and dress up the medley (think song suggestions, the theme, etc.).
• The composer has a leading role in writing the medley. This does not mean other committee members aren’t involved in the writing process, but the composer is responsible for delivering it.
• The composer organizes and leads the medley rehearsals which take place in preparation for the show. This includes finding rehearsal moments where every committee member is available, asking the Internal engagement manager to book a rehearsal space, and making sure the rehearsals are announced.
